How were the Sound Samples Created?

All piano sound samples, as well as the sine note, were created by Alon Amit’s Kurzweil K2500 synthesizer. The guitar note was played on a Yamaha FG 300D acoustic guitar, and recorded through a Shure SM58 microphone. The sound samples were edited on a PC using Sound Forge, through which we also created the three graphs.

The Kurzweil synthesizer has several temperaments programmed to it, which helped greatly in preparing the non-equal temperament sound samples. Before Alon and I discovered that the programmed temperaments can be also transposed to keys other than C major, we programmed temperaments manually into the synthesizer, and this how some of the sound samples (examples 5–9, I believe) were made.
